BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a voluntary recall of ByHeart infant formula, after finding a link between the product and infant botulism cases starting in August.

An investigation conducted by the FDA, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and the Infant Botulism Treatment and Prevention Program (IBTPP), showed 13 cases of infant botulism since August, all of which involved infants who reportedly consumed ByHeart baby formula.
