MADISON (WKOW) -- Two freshman linebackers on the Wisconsin football team earned weekly honors from the Big Ten Conference.
Cooper Catalano was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and Mason Posa was named Co-Freshman of the Week.
Catalano had 19 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack in Wisconsin's win over Washington at Camp Randall Stadium on Saturday. He's the first Big Ten player to have 19 tackles and a sack in a game since 2018.
Posa had 11 tackles, 2.5 sacks, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble against Washington. Posa became the first FBS player this season to have 10+ tackles, 2.0+ sacks, a forced fumble and recovery in a game.
