RADCLIFF, Ky. — As flurries swirled around North Park Elementary School during Monday's dismissal, Hardin County Schools remained in session while neighboring districts opted for closures or virtual instruction during the first snowfall of the school year.
Meade County implemented a non-traditional instruction day, and Breckinridge County called a snow day, but Hardin County Schools kept classrooms open despite icy conditions that left some parents concerned about road safety.
"The winter weather advisory didn't come out until 9 o'clock, we knew road temperatures were good so we made the decision to truck ahead," said John Wright, public relations director for Hardin County Schools. "We've had no incidents our bus drivers did great this morning as we always do."
