ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - During the first cold snap of the season, two women spent hours outside going from north to south city, making sure strangers were fed and felt seen.

Loren Miller and Ty Nelson volunteered on Monday to help their community. Nelson, a barber by trade with clippers in hand, used her gift to serve while her friend Miller helped pass out food to anyone in need.

“The freeze thing we have going on and knowing it’s very cold out, we just thought it would be a good idea to give out for the less fortunate,” Miller said. “We just wanted to give back, we just felt good today to give back.”

By dark, the two made their way to Peter and Paul Community Services Shelter, which welcomed them with open arms. For Miller, the mission hits close to home.
