FRANKLIN COUNTY – November 10th marks a significant day in military history as the Marine Corps celebrates its 250th anniversary. The U.S. Mint has released a special commemorative coin to honor the legacy of the Marines.

Across the nation, each state is celebrating this milestone in unique ways. Currently, more than 200,000 active duty and reserved Marines serve in the United States.

In Franklin County, local group Fighters 3 took to Facebook to wish the Marine Corps a happy birthday. They expressed gratitude for their own Marines, Michael Patson, John Hooley and Fabian Rodriguez.

“Today is a day to honor the bravery, dedication and unwavering commitment of all Marines. Those who have served and those who continue to serve,” they said.
