The Wiggles have admitted they “likely” broke consumer law when selling headbands without a crucial safety warning for the young children who wear the Australian group's merchandise.

Australia’s consumer watchdog on Tuesday revealed the company behind the children’s entertainment group sold the headband, modelled like former yellow Wiggle Emma's, without safety warnings for products with button batteries.

The Wiggles sold the black and yellow headband between June 2022 and March 2024, according to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

The company has since admitted to “likely” breaching consumer law and will implement an internal compliance program.

ACCC deputy chair Catriona Lowe said parents would not be alert of the dangers with the toys without the warning.
