NEWARK – On the final play in a crowded Carpenter Center, Tower Hill libero Lily Leung sent a soft pass to setter Parker Lewicki. Lewicki tapped a set over the beak of the Blue Hen logo at midcourt. Middle hitter Danielle Soleye skied past the descending ball, leaving an avenue for outside hitter Sydney Fischer.

With a well-timed approach, Fischer whacked the ball off the arm of a Saint Mark's blocker. She turned to her teammates as the ball turned 90 degrees and bounced to the scorer's table. The bench unfilled in seconds. They jumped up and down in each other's arms as state champions.
