Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte said the administration is “working on” a plan to introduce 50-year mortgage loans. Among the biggest hurdles facing a 50-year mortgage is regulation passed in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis that limits most regulated mortgages to a maximum term of 30 years and would need an act of Congress to approve.
