BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —

Firefighters worked to put out a house fire early Tuesday in Birmingham.

It happened around 5 a.m. in the 1600 block of 13th Avenue North. That's in the Fountain Heights neighborhood.

The house is next door to a Residence Inn.

Not much was left of the vacant building except the brick porch and foundation.

There were no injuries reported, according to Birmingham Fire and Rescue.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
