BRIDGEPORT – In a time when the cost of nearly everything is rising, it is good news whenever someone or some entity trends in the opposite direction.

The City of Bridgeport was recognized with the Risk Management Service Agency’s (RMSA) Risk Management Achievement Award at the annual meeting of the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) in Chelan earlier this month.

Bridgeport city council member Matthew Schuh attended the AWC gathering and announced the award at the council’s Oct. 15 meeting.

The city received the RMSA award after improving its liability claims experience over the past year by managing its risks, improving community safety, and contributing to lower insurance costs.
