LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The state of the government is in limbo after the Senate passed a short-term spending bill on Monday.

It’s headed to the House before it hits President Trump’s desk.

CBS News reported that the bill could end the shutdown as early as Wednesday. However, they say its effects could linger for a while.

“I know that it’s been hard with the SNAP benefits not going out,” said Director of Food Ministry, Lindsey Engel. “So we are just wanting to do our part.”
