A drugs and dirty money gang fronted by a former footballer has been jailed for a total of almost 27 years. ‌

Gordon Finlayson became a "wealthy man" as cash was raked in from trafficking in large quantities of cocaine as well as cannabis, ketamine, street Valium and amphetamine. ‌

Some of the proceeds were stashed in a spare tyre to try and hide it from police. Finlayson even remained involved in crime while on remand in HMP Inverness. ‌

Finlayson - a former Highland League footballer - today appeared in the dock at the High Court in Glasgow with five fellow gang members to be sentenced.

The 31 year-old had earlier pled guilty to drug trafficking and money laundering charges. ‌
