A teen has been charged after a Scots school was locked down amid a "knife threat".
Emergency crews rushed to Stranraer Academy on the town's McMaster's Road after receiving a report of someone allegedly making threats while carrying a knife in the school grounds.
Dumfries and Galloway Council confirmed the school was placed on a temporary lockdown for less than 10 minutes before being returned to "normal".
A 14-year-old boy has now been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. A report will be sent to the Children’s Reporter as Police Scotland confirmed there was no risk to the wider public.
