When I talk about technology, I’m not talking about policy in the abstract, I’m talking about people’s lives.

One of my closest friends is nearing the end of his incarceration. Technology has allowed us to stay connected through video calls. He has met my children virtually, and they remember him from before his incarceration. That sense of family and belonging is what helps people resist old habits. It is the emotional anchor that keeps them moving forward.
