LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Several puppies were recently found abandoned in Louisville, hours after being born.
The nine puppies were turned into Louisville Metro Animal Services (LMAS) with their umbilical cords still attached, according to an LMAS Facebook post.
LMAS officials said the puppies were found in a box in the 400 block of Dr W. J. Hodge Street in the Portland neighborhood.
Normally, LMAS said these puppies would have little chance of thriving without their mother. However, a foster has stepped in.
"Thankfully members of our excellent foster family have stepped in to take care of them until alternative placement is found," LMAS said in its Facebook post.
