Miami’s own Twanisha “TeeTee” Terry is back home, and she’s brought more gold with her.
The 26-year-old sprinter helped power Team USA to victory in the women’s 4x100 meter relay at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in September.
Despite heavy rain during the race, Terry and her teammates—Melissa Jefferson, Kayla White and Sha’Carri Richardson—stayed focused. They finished first, adding another world championship gold to Terry’s impressive resume.
“You know, the baton can get wet, it can get slippery," Terry told NBC6. "I tucked my hands in and just stayed ready. The rain is in everybody’s lane, so you still have to stay focused."
Off the track, Terry is making her mark in other ways, including with her children’s book "TeeTee's World Adventure."
