CHICO, Calif. - The man charged with shooting and killing a woman outside the Centerfolds strip club in Butte County was found guilty by a Butte County Superior Court jury. On Friday, a jury found Fernando Palomares guilty of first-degree murder in the 2021 shooting death of 21-year-old Alicia Flores from Corning. The verdict was delivered after a three-week trial and less than an hour of deliberation.
Palomares, 33, of Vina, was convicted of murder with the use of a firearm and being a felon in possession of a gun. The trial included testimony from multiple witnesses and surveillance footage showing Palomares and Flores, along with others, arriving at Centerfolds nightclub on Highway 99 north of Chico on December 20, 2021. Prosecutors said Flores was a friend of Palomares' girlfriend.
