CHICO, Calif. — In Chico, residents are dealing with costly damage after a series of door-kicking pranks over the past weekend. Some neighbors have turned to social media to share their experiences, with many suspecting a prank gone too far.

Angela Meador, a Chico homeowner, shared her home surveillance footage with Action News Now. The video shows two people running from a black vehicle, kicking in her door, and fleeing. "I mean at first I was like oh my gosh, what is that, did something fall in the kitchen but then we saw the door crashed open," Meador said. "It was pretty scary but I'm aware of a TikTok trend where people kick in doors so as soon as I saw my Ring camera, I knew it was a prank," she added.
