Newly released private emails from the late Jeffrey Epstein have put President Donald Trump back in the spotlight regarding the fallout.
Members of the House Oversight Committee published fresh correspondence Wednesday morning, Nov. 12, that includes allegations and personal exchanges involving Trump.
The emails feature messages between Epstein, and his longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell, both of whom are convicted child sex offenders.
Among the most striking claims, Epstein wrote in an April 2011 email to Maxwell that “that dog that hasn't barked is trump,” referencing that an alleged victim had “spent hours at my house with him” but that Trump had “never once been mentioned” publicly in connection with the case.
In another message from 2019 to author Michael Wolff, Epstein alleged that “of course [Trump] knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop.” The email offered no further details.
The batch includes a December 2015 exchange with Wolff, who reportedly asked Epstein for guidance on how Trump should respond if questioned about their relationship during a debate or press scrum. Wolff wrote, “if we were able to craft an answer for him, what do you think it should be?”
Screenshots of the emails were posted on social media by House Oversight Committee Ranking Member Rep. Robert Garcia of California and can be viewed here.
This release follows a September disclosure by House Democrats that included a sexually suggestive letter and drawing, purportedly sent by Trump for Epstein's 50th birthday in 2003. Trump has consistently denied writing or signing the letter.
Trump has denied any meaningful connection to Epstein, saying they had a falling out years ago and labeling the recent email releases as “false smears.” Trump also referred to Epstein as "that creep."
The authenticity of the correspondence has not been independently confirmed by sources such as PBS News.
The new emails are likely to prompt more questions about the extent of Trump’s ties to Epstein, whose connections to high-profile figures have long fueled controversy. This comes just as representatives return to Congress after a seven-week recess to vote on ending the government shutdown.
