Shillong, Nov 12: Congress Working President Deborah Marak announced that the party is preparing for a wave of defections, hinting that several leaders, including some from the Trinamool Congress, are set to join the Congress.

Marak said, “There are many, they are joining one by one. So, we are getting ready. There are certain things in politics we must keep secret. When the time comes, we will tell you.”

On TMC MDCs joining, she added, “You know they are on the way, maybe they are reaching very soon.” On possible defections from the National People’s Party, she said, “We don’t know yet.”
