Detectives believe that a teenage mother to a young baby was fatally run over by a truck.

Lily Whitehouse, 19, was found with multiple fatal injuries in Park Street, Oldbury, at around 9.50pm on Wednesday.

The mother of a young baby was sadly pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Mohammed Azim, 41, remains in police custody ahead of a plea and trial preparation hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court on December 16.

Police released an image of a white recovery truck appearing to drive along a thin pavement with its headlights on. A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: ‘We understand Lily Whitehouse, aged 19, was hit by a vehicle on Old Park Lane, Oldbury.

‘She was then found with serious injuries nearby on Park Street by emergency services.
