Calgary police are seeking public help as they investigate the vandalism and partial theft of a religious art piece at St. Mary’s University last week.

At approximately 3 a.m. on Nov. 3, the suspect is believed to have entered the university campus in southeast Calgary and used a saw to remove a portion of a bronze sculpture, according to a CPS news release.

The suspect was driving a silver 2008-2013 Nissan Rogue bearing a stolen Alberta licence plate of CGT 4176.

“The suspect exited the vehicle and used a saw to remove a corner portion of the bronze sculpture, causing significant damage to the artwork, which is valued at approximately $30,000,” the release stated. “The suspect then loaded the stolen piece into the vehicle and
