SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - With the first snowfall of the season occurring this past weekend, city officials are reminding everyone about how to properly respond to winter weather so that you and your neighbors stay safe, warm, and prepared for the snow.
Some guidelines may seem obvious, but they’re important to remember. They include paying attention to snow alerts and knowing what zone you live in, to name a few.
“If we do see accumulating snow, property owners are responsible for clearing any accumulation of snow and ice from their sidewalks within 48 hours from the end of a snow event,” said Justin Christensen, the property maintenance inspector with the City of Sioux Falls. “When clearing sidewalks, be mindful that it needs to be cleared edge to edge down to the concrete.
