LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The family of one of the victims in last year’s Givaudan explosion has filed a new lawsuit.

Austin Jaggers was one of two employees killed when a pressure vessel inside the Colour Sense factory exploded on November 12, 2024.

Jaggers’ family, on behalf of his estate, has brought a lawsuit against 21 defendants. Each one listed, attorneys for Jaggers’ family said, had direct involvement in the design, construction and operation of the pressure valve that exploded that day, killing Jaggers and Kevens Dawson, Jr.

Each of the companies named were “involved or notified of post-incident inspections of evidence and appeared at some or all of said inspections.”

The family’s attorney argues this represents “probable cause” for allegations of liability.
