OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - An Omaha nonprofit is hoping to expand its anti-trafficking initiative as the city sees a record number of sex trafficking arrests in 2025.

Project Harmony’s Anti Trafficking Community Initiative is seeking a $400,000 grant to add a third crime analyst position to help Omaha Police Department investigations. The funding requires City Council approval.

“I mean, this year alone, we’ve probably made the most arrests in one year that we’ve ever made,” said Sgt. Brett Schrage with OPD.

Ten of those arrests are tied to two recent cases, the first was an FBI raid in August at several Omaha hotels . A second case earlier this month led to more arrests , including a city employee.
