Another prominent business owner in Surrey has been targeted with gunfire at his home as extortion cases continue to plague the local South Asian community.

The shooting happened over the weekend outside a large mansion on the 17000-block of 32 Ave., in a rural part of South Surrey.

An individual who was working at the home at the time of the shooting suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said. However, authorities were unable to say Wednesday if the person was hit by gunfire.

Property records show the home belongs to Sandeep Ahuja, the co-owner of Punjab Insurance Agency.
