A dog has been tragically put down following a horror ute crash in regional New South Wales that killed its owner.
Emergency services rushed to The McGrane Way at Tullamore, about 90km northwest of Parkes, about 10.15pm on Wednesday after reports of a crash.
Central West Police District officers found a Nissan utility had collided with a tree upon arrival.
The 27-year-old male driver died at the scene, a NSW Police statement said.
First responders found a dog in the back of the vehicle.
The animal was euthanised due to the extent of its injuries.
A crime scene was set up by police and an investigation into the crash was launched.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
