EUGENE, Ore. - The Marist High School volleyball team made program history this past weekend by advancing to their third consecutive state title game. However, their sights were set beyond just reaching the finals.
With a decisive 3-0 victory over The Dalles on Saturday, the Spartans secured their second state championship in three years.
"It was pretty surreal," Head Coach Shari Pimental said. "Like you go through the last two years we've been in the finals, and so then to be back again, it was a pretty significant feat for us. It was the goal, obviously from the beginning of the year."
