LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Election season has arrived, and we now have a good idea of who's running next year, with the flurry of filings closing Wednesday at noon.

Arkansas is slowly inching toward the March primary for the 2026 election in November of next year.

Some of the key races are the state senate seat up for election and the four House of Representatives’ seats. This comes during the all-important midterm election for congressional races.

Two democratic candidates filed to run against the sitting Governor, Sarah Huckabee Sanders. State Senator Fred Love and Supha Xaprasith-Mays are looking to unseat Sanders.

Multiple Republicans and Democrats are running for the Senate seat this election cycle.

Democrats Hallie Shoffner and Mayor Ethan Dunbar filed to run against Senator Tom Cotto
