MACON, Ga. — Anthony Miller is painting the portrait of an Air Force airman. He says painting brings him back to memories of a 22-year military career that began in 1970.
"You can express yourself. I see this jet flying there, and I think of waking up in the morning to the sound of aircraft taking off," Miller said.
The former jet engine mechanic now channels his decades of service into new missions: painting and carpentry. He says right now he is renovating a transitional home for a homeless veteran.
Home Depot gave more than $6,000 in gift cards to Macon's Veterans Art Society.
