The Vigilance Department trapped RWSS clerk T. Venkata Girirao in Bhawanipatna while he accepted a bribe of Rs 20,000 from retired fitter Trilochan Sabar.

Officers moved quickly and caught him inside his government quarters.

Girirao demanded money from Sabar to process official work. Sabar reported the demand to Vigilance officials. They planned a trap and supplied marked currency notes. Girirao accepted the cash without hesitation. Vigilance officers entered the quarters and seized the money.

The operation exposed corruption inside the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) department. Vigilance officers documented the entire process and confirmed the recovery of the bribe amount. They registered a case against Girirao under the relevant anti-corruption laws.
