A group of armed dacoits stormed a transport company office in Sundargarh district’s Lahuniapada police limits and looted more than Rs 5 lakh late Wednesday night.
The incident took place in the Barasua area when nearly 8 to 10 masked men arrived in two Bolero vehicles, one white and one black. They entered the office armed with pistols and other weapons. The gang assaulted employees and forced them at gunpoint to hand over cash.
Reports confirmed that the criminals looted over Rs 5 lakh before fleeing the scene. While leaving, they damaged CCTV hardware to erase evidence.
Police stated that the gang carried out the operation with precision and intimidation. Officers from Lahuniapada police station reached the spot and began an investigation. They are examining leads to trace the vehicl
