FISHERS, Ind. — Dozens of Hamilton County teachers stormed out of a school board meeting Wednesday night, demanding more pay.

More than 100 people, including teachers and supporters, showed up to the Hamilton Southeastern school board meeting Nov. 12 to voice concerns about teacher contracts.

But when the board told them they couldn't talk about the issue because it wasn't on the agenda, they walked out, holding a meeting of their own in the parking lot.

Last month, 86% of teachers in the district voted down a new contract . According to the Hamilton Southeastern Education Association, a pay freeze and rising health care costs actually amounts to a pay cut.

The group met with school administration last week.
