MANCHESTER, N.H. —
Police are investigating after a Derry officer was hit by a car while directing traffic at a construction site Wednesday.
Officials said the officer was struck at the intersection of Chester Road and North Shore Road just before 11:30 a.m.
Police said a maroon Subaru Forester, traveling eastbound, hit the officer with its right-side mirror, which broke. The impact injured the officer's arm.

The car stopped briefly before continuing on, police said.
Witnesses described the driver as an older woman wearing eyeglasses.
