Firefighters have provided an update on a fire that resulted in large clouds of smoke over a Cambridgeshire town. Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue were called to a fire along Barton Road, Wisbech at around 2.43pm on Wednesday (November 12).
Nearby residents could see large clouds of smoke in the area. The blaze was a result of a “large quantity of pallets” on fire.
A fire spokesperson said: “At 2.43pm crews from Whittlesey and Dogsthorpe along with West Walton, Long Sutton and Kings Lynn were called to a fire in the open on Barton Road in Wisbech. The fire initially extinguished and crews returned to their stations by around 5.30pm.
