BOSTON, MA – Local students are providing mentorship for their peers at the Emmanuel College School of Nursing.

The following local students are providing support and guidance through the peer mentoring program this fall:

Ruth Fomo of Watertown.

Adriana Melaragno of Oakville.

As peer mentors, the students provide support and guidance for at least one first- or second-year student. Participants also receive support from the faculty peer-mentoring team.

Offered through the School of Nursing Club, the program matched more than 60 mentors with fellow students this fall. Evidence shows that peer mentoring helps reduce challenges such as isolation, loneliness, and stress among first- and second-year college students.
