HOCKING COUNTY, Ohio — The former owner of a Hocking Hills rental cabin will spend the next six to nine years behind bars after he hid a camera in the cabin bathroom, capturing video of dozens of guests.

Jason Yard of Akron had pleaded no contest to one felony count of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material. He had faced a maximum of eight to 12 years in prison.

As part of a plea agreement, the prosecutors and defense submitted a joint recommendation for a four- to six-year prison term, but the judge sentenced him higher, citing the severity of the crime.

The hidden camera was discovered last February by a family staying at Yard’s “Sly Fox Lodge."
