LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — A driver was arrested and an officer is injured after a police pursuit east of the Las Vegas Strip Thursday morning.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, officers observed a vehicle that appeared to be attempting to hit a pedestrian and driving in a manner that posed a danger to the public. Officers later learned that the vehicle was related to a possible kidnapping call in downtown.
Police say a pursuit was authorized and officers used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle, ending near Desert Inn Road and Joe W Brown Drive.
One officer was transported for minor injuries, and the suspect was taken into custody after officers deployed tasers.
The area is expected to be closed for several hours as officers continue their investigation.
