About 250 veterans gathered Tuesday morning, November 11, at The Flying Bridge restaurant for Falmouth’s 11th annual Veterans Day Complimentary Tribute Breakfast, a celebration of service, community and camaraderie.
Fresh fruit, waffles, scrambled eggs, cups of coffee and sweet treats covered tables—all provided free by the restaurant—as veterans gathered to enjoy the morning. The first- and second-floor dining areas were filled to capacity.
Veterans Jay Zavala and Carissa April emceed and organized the event. Zavala said William Zammer and Sam Lorusso asked him to organize and emcee the event for the first time in 2013. Since then, Zavala said, the tribute breakfast has continued to be a successful gathering.
