"Neighbors helping neighbors.” Those words are contained in the logo for the Christ the King food pantry. During the past several weeks, the reality of that phrase has been manifested in the outpouring of support from the entire community. In fact, it has been humbling, but at the same time uplifting to see all of our volunteers who dedicate their time week after week to provide for our clients who face the challenge of food insecurity. Our mission is to end food insecurity in the communities that we serve. The government shutdown has increased demand at our pantry to a degree that I have not witnessed in many years as a volunteer.
