GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The South Carolina Education Lottery said an Upstate couple won big on their favorite college team’s scratch-off ticket.

Officials said the couple finished their shopping at Publix on Fork Shoals Road in Mauldin when something garnet caught the husband’s eye. It was a $5 Carolina Jackpot.

“We love the Gamecocks,” they told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.

The lucky scratch-off won them $200,000 worth of bragging rights.

The couple said they’re going to do something fun with the money.

For selling the claimed ticket, Publix Super Markets Inc #2100 in Mauldin received a commission of $2,000.
