GREENVILLE, S.C. —
A South Carolina couple scored a $200,000 win on their favorite college team’s scratch-off ticket.
“We love the Gamecocks,” they told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
After they finished their grocery shopping at the Publix on Fork Shoals Road in Mauldin, something garnet caught the husband’s eye. It was a $5 Carolina Jackpot scratch-off at the customer service counter. And he had to have one.
As luck would have it, he left with bragging rights worth $200,000.

The wife is enjoying the win too. “We’re going to do something fun with it,” she said.
One more top prize of $200,000 remains in the Carolina Jackpot game at odds of 1 in 520,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Publix Super Markets Inc #2100 in Mauldin received a commission
