PENDLETON COUNTy, W.Va. — Crews in Pendleton County are battling another wildfire , according to local officials.
The Greenwalt Gap fire, which was about 170 acres, was 70% on Thursday morning, said the Pendelton County Office of Emergency Management.
"Crews continue to work the scene," the agecny said in a social media post. "Thanks to All the firefighters from the VFDs, WV DOF, and citizens. Thanks to the many citizens, businesses and organizations who have provided food amd beverages."
A brush fire was first reported on Wednesday about four miles up Greenwalt Gap. Multiple fire units responded to the scene. The fire produced heavy smoke and initially covered at least 10 acres.
