A former De Soto School District employee will spend close to three years behind bars for unlawful sexual relations with a student.
Kassidy Alexander was sentenced Wednesday to 34 months, the Johnson County District Attorney's Office announced. Alexander pleaded guilty in September to one count of unlawful sexual relations with a student over the age of 16; two others were dismissed as part of a plea agreement, court records show. Alexander was a paraprofessional in the De Soto School District at the time of the offense. Court documents say Alexander did “unlawfully and feloniously engage in consensual sexual intercourse with a person 16 or more years old … while the offender was a teacher or other person in a position of authority.”
