Sunday could feature a tryout of sorts when the Packers and Green Bay defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley visit the Giants , who will soon be looking for a new head coach.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on Wednesday that an NFL owner recently called him out about Hafley being a strong fit for the open Giants job.

“He goes, ‘Do you have any names that you think could be on the radar?’” Schefter said on ESPN .

Schefter responded that one name that he thinks is interesting is Hafley, who is from Montvale, because of his Jersey ties.

“And he goes ‘I’m so glad you said that. I was calling to tell you that Jeff Hafley would be an amazing choice for the Giants, and I just want you to know that.’”

Schefter said he was speaking to a “random owner.”
