A Devils defenseman is going to pay for a hit he laid on Tyler Bertuzzi — literally.

On Thursday morning, the NHL’s Department of Player Safety announced that Brenden Dillon is being fined $5,000 — the maximum allowable under the NHL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement — for boarding the Blackhawks forward during New Jersey’s game at Chicago Wednesday night.
