Michael Wolff, the New Jersey-raised journalist, is back at the center of political and media scrutiny as newly surfaced emails tied to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation reignite questions.

In a video posted to Instagram Nov. 12, Wolff, who has written four books on Trump’s rise to the White House said the documents include direct communications between himself and Epstein discussing Trump. Epstein died by suicide in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting federal sex-trafficking charges.

“This morning, the House Oversight Committee released emails directly linking Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein,” Wolff said in the video. “Some of those emails are between Epstein and me, with Epstein discussing his relationship with Donald Trump… perhaps we’re getting close to the smoking gun.”
