For the second year in a row, 28-year-old ace Detroit Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal was named the winner of the Cy Young Award for the American League. Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes was named the National League winner.

The award comes as speculation runs wild about what will happen to Skubal, who becomes a free agent after next season.

Skubal's agent, Scott Boras, is waiting for another offer from the Tigers, whether it comes from president of baseball operations Scott Harris or directly from owner Christopher Ilitch, the Detroit Free Press reports.

"We talk a lot. Through the course of the offseason, we'll continue to discuss," Boras said Wednesday, according to the Freep.
