MARQUETTE, MI – This brewery in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is among the awardees of a federal grant program aimed at building resilient local food supply chains.
The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) announced that more than $3.1 million of grants has been awarded to 34 Michigan entities through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program (RFSI).
Ore Dock Brewing Company , 114 W. Spring St. in Marquette, is among them with a $100,000 grant. The brewery is the program’s only grant winner in the U.P.
The Resilient Food Systems program invests in local food processing, aggregation and distribution, which makes it easier for farmers to sell in their communities and for Michigan families to purchase locally g
