A Hackensack woman is facing charges after investigators say she knew about ongoing sexual assaults involving a child and did nothing to stop them.
Hackensack Police contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit in early November 2025 regarding “an alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that occurred in the past,” authorities said.
Investigators said the investigation revealed that Jennifer Garcia-Mota, 42, of Hackensack, “had prior knowledge of the assaults occurring and allowed them to continue,” Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
A criminal complaint obtained by Daily Voice says the incidents happened between Dec. 21, 2024 and Nov. 2, 2025. At least one was captured on video and used as evidence, the complaint says.
On Friday, Nov. 7, Garcia-Mota was arrested in Paramus and charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, authorities said. She was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending her first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
